Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame
The Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame is located in the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District. It features more than 100 inductees. Well-known names include country legend George Strait and 9-time world champion rodeo cowboy Ty Murray. Guests can learn about all inductees throughout the Hall of Fame as each one has their own individual booth with memorabilia.
Frontier Times Museum
Located in the self proclaimed Cowboy Capital of the World, the Frontier Times Museum has been planning some fun for National Cowboy Day. Head over to Bandero, Texas for the "Texas Heroes Hall of Honor." The event begins at 12:00pm. Inductees of the Hall of Honor are those who the museum says keep the pioneer spirit alive.
National Day of the American Cowboy Parade
The Fort Worth Stockyards will be celebrating their 5th National Day of the American Cowboy event. American Cowboy Magazine names this the best tribute event in America. The day kicks off with a cattle drive followed by the infamous parade. A host of other events will follow including gun fights, a wild west show and more.
American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame and Museum
Celebrate the history of the American Quarter Horse breed and those who shaped them. At the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame and Museum in Amarillo you'll learn about careers in the equine industry, admire artwork and dig deeper into the role American Quarter horses have played throughout history.
Meridian Buckle Series Rodeo
This family friendly rodeo is part of the World Senior Professional Bull Riders Association. This event will be held at the Meridian Horse Show Association Marina in Meridian, TX. Get out your cowboy hats and lassos and get ready to cheer on those bull riders.
IPRA Stockyards Championship Rodeo
This rodeo will take place in the historic Cowtown Coliseum of the Forth Worth Stockyards. If you're ready for some live rodeo action you won't want to miss this one. Pull on your cowboy boots and head on over to see some action.
Glen Rose
Glen Rose, Texas will be celebrating National Cowboy Day with a host of exciting activities. Held in the Historic Glen Rose Square, all visitors will enjoy a parade, live music, poetry, gun fights and more. The event begins at 9 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m.
Fort Concho
The fun starts at Fort Concho at 8 a.m. on July 22 with a hearty breakfast. This historical landmark has tons of fun plans for visitors. Western skits by the Concho Cowboy Company and live music are only a few. Also, be sure to stay for the Western Art Show to admire all western history has to offer.
