New Country Songs for January 2018

New year, new you? Maybe, or maybe not. But definitely some new country songs! Last December saw a surprising amount of new music that wasn't Christmas music (and plenty of that too).

This month, we've got the return of a giant, a newcomer looking to extend his streak and plenty more. Read on and check out the new country songs heading to the radio in January 2018.

Sugarland, "Still The Same" (Jan. 8)

Arguably one of the biggest stories in country music near the end of 2017, Sugarland announced their return in November. But the award-winning duo clearly had things in the works before then, because their new single "Still The Same" is already headed to radio. The new song is vintage Sugarland, with a soaring chorus and poignant lyrics that cut right to the heart of the matter.

Luke Combs, "One Number Away" (Jan. 8)

Luke Combs had a huge 2017, and he's hoping to keep the ball rolling with his new single in 2018. Both of his singles from his No. 1 album topped the radio charts. With "One Number Away," Combs takes a notably more downtempo approach with a lovelorn minor melody.

Walker McQuire, "Lost" (Jan. 16)

Walker McGuire had a surprise radio hit in April with "Til Tomorrow," which has since been streamed more than 23 million times. The new male duo keeps that winning formula going by delivering another mid-tempo power ballad with "Lost." They have yet to release a full body of work, but rest assured, these singles will be on there.

Josh Gracin, "Nothin' Like Us" (Jan. 16)

Josh Gracin's "Nothin' Like Us" is already his most-streamed song by a mile, which is good news for the veteran singer looking to return to the main stage of mainstream. Gracin released his EP of the same name earlier in the year, the first body of work from the "Nothing To Lose" singer since 2011.

Alan Jackson, "The Older I Get" (Jan. 22)

Leave it to Alan Jackson to keep it country. His new song "The Older I Get" is truly a classic country stunner, with beautiful, wistful lyrics and a great message. In another time, this song would be a no-brainer No. 1 single on country radio. Let's hope it at least gets a shot this January.

Jillian Jacqueline, "Reasons" (Jan. 22)

Jillian Jacqueline is one of the buzziest newcomers in Nashville, and it's not too far-fetched to see Jacqueline follow in the footsteps of Maren Morris. Her song "Reasons" is already a hit online thanks to its poppy vibe and earnest lyrics. She just released her Side A EP near the end of 2017.

Kid Rock, "American Rock N' Roll" (Jan. 22)

Kid Rock has flirted with country radio before, and he may just find himself there again with new single "American Rock N' Roll" from his recent album Sweet Southern Sugar. For a polarizing personality who keeps reinventing himself, Kid Rock sure manages to stay in the spotlight.
