5 New Songs We’re Listening to this Week

Here are five new country and Americana songs we have on heavy rotation.

Midland, "Make A Little"

Texas trio Midland calls for a little more love in the 80s country-esque  "Make A Little." The revivalists even tip their hats to the kings of  solid gold country harmonies, Alabama, with a nod to "Dixieland Delight." As Midland enjoys their No. 1 hit "Drinkin' Problem," many country fans are looking to the band to bring a traditional country sound back to country radio. With "Make A Little," Midland proves that they're more than happy to fill that role. Midland's full-length debut album On the Rocks drops Sept. 22.

Turnpike Troubadours, "The Housefire"

The Turnpike Troubadours are back and they brought along familiar characters and a tale of Heartland survival. "The Housefire," a story of a couple's struggle to keep going after losing nearly everything, is the first release from the Troubadours' upcoming album A Long Way From Your Heart. No one does southern storytelling better than the Turnpike Troubadours and "The Housefire" is no exception.

The Texas Gentlemen, "Bondurant Women"

Soulful roots rock group the Texas Gentlemen are gearing up to release their debut album TX Jelly on Sept. 15 and if the slick 1970s groove of  "Bondurant Women" is any indication, it's going to be killer.

BJ Barham, "Til the Final Curtain Falls"

BJ Barham is one of the finest singer-songwriters in Americana music. The American Aquarium frontman released his incredible, deeply personal solo album Rockingham last year. "Til the Final Curtain Falls" is a continuation of the lyrics-driven honesty Barham and the band are known for. American Aquarium kicks off their fall tour Aug. 31 in Lubbock.

The Cadillac Three and Lori McKenna, "Love Me Like Liquor"

Rowdy southern rock outfit The Cadillac Three are known for their devil-may-care party anthems. But on "Love Me Like Liquor," featuring Americana favorite Lori McKenna, the band eschews debauchery for a stripped down ode to intoxicating love.
