The 'O Brother, Where Art Thou' Cast Will Reunite at the Nashville Film Festival

How is it already the 20th anniversary of O Brother, Where Art Thou? The Nashville Film Festival is taking advantage of the special anniversary and bringing some of the iconic old gang back together again, including some of the country stars that were featured on the Grammy award winning (including Album of the Year) soundtrack. The musical impact of the classic comedy was indisputable as it helped resurge a new wave of popularity for bluegrass and the Americana scene when it was released in 2000.

Cast members George Clooney, John Turturro, Tim Blake Nelson and Chris Thomas King will all be part of the anniversary event and will reflect back on filming O Brother, Where Art Thou, talking about the soundtrack and enjoying musical performances.

"The Nashville Film Festival is honored to host this incredible lineup of actors and musicians and pay tribute to one of the most beloved and revered films of our time," Jason Padgitt, executive director of the Nashville Film Festival told Variety. "This special online event explores and celebrates the incredible contributions of this film, along with its impact on popular music and culture."

The festival will be virtual October 1-7 this year (due to the pandemic) and will include a musical performance from Chris Thomas King singing "Hard Time Killing Floor Blues" from the iconic Coen Brothers film. Other incredible bluegrass songs will be featured including performances by Dan Tyminski of Alison Krauss & Union Station. It was actually Tyminski who was the singing voice for Clooney in the Soggy Bottom Boys song, "I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow." Carlene Carter of the historic Carter family and her daughter Tiffany Anastasia Lowe will join Kathleen Edwards and the Dead South as part of the special online reunion.

The virtual event will be completely free for pass holders but if you're just a really big fan of this Coen Brothers movie you can tune in for $12.
