This tasty chocolate cookie was invented over a century ago, back in 1912, by Sam Porcello. This American food scientist spent over thirty years working at Nabisco, and his expertise showed through when he invented the magic that is Oreos. He got two satisfyingly round chocolate-covered wafers, met them in the middle with a tasty crème filling, and this classic cookie was born.
At the time, this was more than enough! However, over the years, Nabisco has added flavor after flavor, fulfilling everyone's cookie desires. Now, you can have donut flavored Oreos, mint Oreos, cake-flavored Oreos, and Oreos for essentially any holiday or occasion. We'll always love a classic Oreo, but we're not mad about the amazing number of options there are!
