When you want to relax, there are a few boxes that must be checked off the list: an empty house, sweet smelling bath, a glass of wine. While we can't do much about helping you with the first, the second and third are right up our alley. A warm bath can relax muscles and relieve stress by providing a feeling of temporary escape.

Add in the benefits of aromatherapy and that perfect glass of wine, and you've got yourself the perfect remedy in relaxation. Did you know, though, that certain smells can actually affect the taste of wine?
Just think about how you can't really taste food when you have a cold. Or when that overwhelming smell of cooking garlic makes it so your water tastes infused with the stuff. Smells and taste are connected.
So, in order to get the most out of our aromatherapy bath bombs, we spoke to a wine-making expert on the perfect scents while sipping in the tub. California winemaker Margaret Leonardi is the woman behind the scenes at LBD Wines.
She helps to create and craft a portfolio of wines that appeals to everyone's palate, saying,
"I aim to make wines that are approachable, affordable, and delicious. This means creating wines that can be appreciated while curling up on the couch to watch The Bachelor on Monday evenings, hanging out with your girlfriends on Wednesday nights, flirting on date nights, or relaxing on Friday evenings at home over dinner with friends."
Ready to run that bath? Here are the scents that pair perfectly with your favorite wines for the ultimate wine/bath experience.
1. Lavender

A delicate pinot noir features hints of cherry, cloves and flowers.
The soft and seductive finish of LBD's Pinot Noir lingers a bit with hints of lavender making a perfect foil for the Lavender Bath Bomb.
2. Grapefruit
Hints of strawberry and grapefruit in a dazzling and refreshing rosé wine are ideal for the grapefruit bath bomb.
3. Vanilla

A chardonnay should be brilliant, fruity and warm yet at the same time creamy and with essence of oak.
The LBD Chardonnay is all that with slight hints of vanilla, citrus and spice making a lovely marriage with the vanilla-scented bath bomb.
4. Bergamot
Citrus bergamia is a small tree that blossoms during the winter. It smells like an orange, but looks like a lemon.
The bright aromas of orange citrus in pinot grigio are remarkably attuned to the bergamot bath bomb.
5. Rosemary

Black cherry, cranberry and herbs make LBD's merlot the perfect wine to sip while relaxing in rosemary bath.
The wine is rich, smooth, supple, and makes an extraordinary accompaniment to the rosemary bath bomb.
6. Tropical

Any tropical scented bath bomb will evoke visions of pineapple-garnished cocktails on a remote Caribbean island. A sip of Sauvignon Blanc will only enhance the feeling.
Sauv Blanc is a crisp, dry, and refreshing white varietal wine that smells like fresh fruit with just the right amount of sweetness.
7. Chocolate

If you want a dessert-scented bath, you'll appreciate the bold structure and full body of cabernet sauvignon.
This wine generally pairs perfectly with luscious dark chocolate because of the juicy black fruit and defined tannins that make up the wine. Inhale your coco-bath while taking a sip and all the flavors will come to life.
