Like other kinds of nut butters, pistachio butter is easy to make, fairly healthy, and quite delicious! If you like using peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter, pecan butter, walnut butter, and other similar spreadable butters or creams, you should try pistachio butter instead.

What is Pistachio Butter?

This spread is made by grinding lightly roasted pistachios, usually shelled pistachios, into a paste. After they've been roasted, you can blend the pistachio nuts in a food processor or high-speed blender until they're smooth.

A lot of recipes use raw pistachios and unsalted pistachios to make pistachio nut butter, although some add in a little salt during the blending process to make this homemade nut butter in small batches. This nut butter only takes a few minutes of total time to make, plus a baking sheet for roasting.

What's In It?

As previously mentioned, some recipes use just the nuts and sometimes a little bit of sea salt.

However, some roasted pistachio butter recipes call for other ingredients including honey, olive oil, or coconut oil. There are even homemade pistachio butter recipes made with maple syrup, or even white chocolate!

What Are Some of the Health Benefits?

This nut butter is a great source of "fiber, protein, vitamin B6, potassium, and essential amino acids," according to MasterClass. It's low in calories and fat, and doesn't have to have a ton of additives or sweeteners if you don't want to add them.

How To Use It

You can really use this nut butter for whatever you want. It can be easily kept in an airtight container to be used later for toast, oatmeal, cookie batter, on cake bars, and even on ice cream, if you want.
