Police Called After Taylor Swift Fans Swarm Wedding Rehearsal

Swift was in town for Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff's wedding.

With the amount of star power Taylor Swift possesses, it's hard for the singer to remain anonymous anywhere — even at a wedding event for a personal friend. On Friday, Aug. 18, police were forced to respond after throngs of fans crowded a street outside of Black Whale Bar & Fish House in Long Beach Island, N.J., where Swift was seen entering for a rehearsal dinner. The party was part of the wedding events for Swift's producer, Jack Antonoff, who married actress Margaret Qualley on Saturday, Aug. 19.

Videos shared by fans on social media show the street closed down due to the crowds of people hoping to catch a glimpse of the singer. Some fans were lucky enough to see Swift as she left the party, and video clips show the singer — dressed in a black skirt outfit — waving to excited fans. Swift reportedly arrived with actors Channing Tatum and Zoe Kravitz. Fan accounts reveal that the crowd chanted the singer's name while she was inside.

Antonoff and Qualley, daughter of actress Andie MacDowell, were married in an "intimate" ceremony in New Jersey on Saturday, Entertainment Weekly reports. In addition to Swift, Kravitz and Tatum, singer Lana Del Rey was in attendance at the wedding. Swift wore a blue, lace-covered gown on the day of celebration.

Swift and Antonoff are longtime musical collaborators, dating back to her 2014 project, 1989. Antonoff won the Grammy award for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical in 2022 and 2023.

The wedding day was perfectly timed for Swift, as she is currently on a short break from her massive Eras Tour, which took her from coast to coast throughout the summer. She begins the international leg of the tour on Thursday, Aug. 24 in Mexico City. The international tour will continue through next summer, after which she will kick off another, albeit shorter, U.S. leg.
