Group Armed with Gun Demand Popeyes Chicken Sandwiches at Texas Location

It's safe to say some people are going bonkers for the new Popeyes chicken sandwiches. At their launch, people snaked through lines to grab a bite of the new sandwich, making the sandwich run out a month ahead of schedule, and some people, especially this group from Texas, are willing to go to extreme measures to get what is called the "best chicken sandwich" of the year. Apparently, pulling a gun at a Popeyes restaurant and demanding the new chicken sandwich was the best idea this armed group of people had.

Group Armed with a Gun Demand New Popeyes Chicken Sandwiches

According to KHOU, Houston Police are currently investigating an incident that happened 9 p.m. Monday at the Popeyes drive-thru at 7159 Scott in Houston. Two women, three men, and a baby were hankering the new sandwich when employees shared they were no longer available.

Aggravated, the group of people tried to enter the Houston Popeyes chicken restaurant demanding the fried chicken sandwich from employees of the restaurant. The Popeyes employees had locked them out and the gunman and his friends left in a blue SUV. According to police, the man with the gun was described as having small dreadlocks, tattoos on his face and was seen wearing a black shirt with red sleeves. Thankfully no one was hurt.

This is not the only incident regarding the sought-after fast-food sandwich. A man in Tennessee is suing the company after he was unable to grab one of the trending sandwiches. According to NBC News, Craig Barr is going after the chain alleging it engaged in "false advertising" and "deceptive business practices by entity to public." He is also looking for $5,000 in damages due to the ordeal. The lawsuit, which is represented by Barr himself, documents he was scammed $25 from a craigslist poster who said they were hiding some of the sandwiches at the location. Barr then drove from Popeyes to Popeyes, racking up $1,500 in rim and tire damage and was humiliated when his friends laughed at him.

Thankfully the sandwiches should be coming back soon, so people won't have to resort to extreme measures to get some chicken.
