Dr. Ralph Stanley Forever: A Tribute Concert will be held at the Grand Ole Opry on Oct. 19. Country star Dierks Bentley will headline the event that recognized the contributions Stanley made to Bluegrass music. Dr. Stanley passed away last year at the age of 89.

In addition to Bentley, fans will also get to hear Dr. Stanley's grandson Nathan Stanley.

"My Papaw was a special man and this is going to be a special night," Nathan told Rolling Stone . "I've asked a lot of my friends to come and honor his legacy. I am committed to keeping his legacy and music alive - forever. This night is going to be incredible."

Along with Bentley and Stanley, Shane Owens, Heidi Newfield, Daryl Worley, Doug Supernaw, and many more are also set to perform.

Dr. Stanley's nickname was "the Patriarch of Bluegrass" for his achievements introducing mainstream audiences to Appalachian music. His energetic banjo skills were the earmark of his career, and a big part of his induction into the Bluegrass Hall of Honor.

Music was a lifelong pursuit for Dr. Stanley. He began performing in 1946, when he joined forces with his brother Carter, calling themselves the Clinch Mountain Boys. Later they converted to the logical band name, The Stanley Brothers. The Stanley Brothers played together all over the world until Carter's untimely death in 1966. Ralph persisted, however, following his brother's passing, and continued playing throughout the 70's, 80's and 90's. In 2002 he won a GRAMMY for his rendition of "O, Death" in the movie O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Tickets for the concert are available online via Ticketmaster.
