Reba McEntire Responds to Fan's Hilarious TikTok: 'Mama Always Knows Best'

Reba McEntire made a fourth grade teacher's year.

TikToker and educator Chris D. Staples makes videos of himself reacting in over-the-top ways to retro music. Specifically, he mimics his mother's in-car singalongs from back in the day to Fleetwood Mac, Chicago, Michael Bolton and other pop culture staples.

In one particularly delightful video posted on July 18, Staples pokes a little fun at his mom's Reba McEntire fandom while flying his own fan flag for the 1987 hit "The Last One to Know."

McEntire "dueted" the video later in July. She's all smiles in the 30-second clip before delivering one on-brand line: "Mama always knows best."

#duet with @Reba McEntire I'm still in shock that the one and only REBA dueted me?????????

One day later, Staples posted a response video —a duet of the duet— in which he's clearly over the moon.

Penned by Matraca Berg and Jane Mariash, "The Last One to Know" was first recorded in 1985 by Karen Brooks for her album I Will Dance With You. McEntire's version hit No. 1 and was the title track of her first album to enter the all-genre Billboard 200.

McEntire uses TikTok to share flashbacks from her career, funny quips and moments from her relationship with actor Rex Linn.

McEntire's next adventure to chronicle begins on Sept. 25 when she debuts as a coach on The Voice.

On May 15, McEntire's team confirmed that the pop culture icon will become a first-time coach for Season 24. The brief press release added that McEntire "will draw from her iconic career as she shares her expertise with hopeful up-and-comers."

McEntire replacing Blake Shelton fulfills one of the singing competition show's original plans for its 2011 debut. During a 2020 appearance on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, she confirmed the rumor that NBC's The Voice could've had Team Reba in Season 1 instead of Team Blake.
