Pumpkin Spice Moonshine is the Adult PSL

With the start of fall comes pumpkin spice everything and we're good with that. And if you've made your own batch of pumpkin pie spice, mixing up your own pumpkin spice moonshine shouldn't be far behind in your list of autumn DIY projects. This infused moonshine recipe uses pumpkin purée along with the ground pumpkin pie spices and apple cider to get that pure pumpkin taste in an adult beverage you and all your friends will love.

The first step is to cook the pumpkin and spices. Mix the pumpkin purée, brown sugar, cinnamon sticks, ground ginger, ground nutmeg, ground cloves, and apple cider together in a large pot such as a dutch oven. Bring the ingredients to a boil and simmer for 30 minutes, then let the whole thing refrigerate until completely cooled.

Once the pumpkin mix is cool, divide by pouring it carefully into six quart-sized mason jars (a large funnel is your friend here) and then add the vanilla vodka and moonshine on top of the pumpkin mixture until the jars are full. You can also make this pumpkin pie moonshine recipe with Everclear grain alcohol if moonshine is not available.

Store for a few days to let the flavors infuse into the moonshine; if you can stand to wait longer, the longer this mixture sits, the better the infused moonshine tastes. When you're ready to serve, simply pour into your favorite glass, garnish with some of your homemade pumpkin spice blends and enjoy! You can also make a cocktail mixing in some whipped cream vodka as well as use as adding a splash to your morning latte.
