Leaving cookies out for Santa Claus is a classic tradition. You either bake up a batch of your favorite Christmas cookies (or grab some Oreos from the store), leave them with a glass of milk, and before you know it, morning has arrived and all the cookies are gone. But why does Santa get all the fun? Put the kiddos to bed and indulge in one (or a few) of these boozy Sugar Cookie Jello Shots as you countdown the hours until Christmas morning.

How to Make Sugar Cookie Jello Shots

To begin, bring two cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in 4 envelopes of unflavored gelatin. We used two boxes of Knox gelatin brand. Once dissolved, stir in the cold water, Bailey's Irish Cream liqueur, Butterscotch Liqueur (or butterscotch schnapps), and Triple Sec. You can also substitute the triple sec for vanilla vodka or any other holiday flavored vodka. I've even seen eggnog vodka, so that might be a great one to try!

Pour the gelatin mixture into individual shot glasses and refrigerate until the jelly shots are set, about 3-4 hours. Remove the Christmas sugar cookie jello shots from the fridge and top with a dollop of whipped cream and some festive sprinkles. I like to serve mine with a small candy cane.
The best way to serve these is in small plastic shot glasses. Although you can find more decorative shot glasses, the small and flexible glasses make it easy to take the shot in one go. And make sure you let the youngsters know this is an adult-only treat. It looks way too tempting!
