Red Lobster Just One-Upped Its Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Cheddar Bay Biscuits at Red Lobster are hands down the best thing on the menu. But the seafood chain decided just plain old biscuits wasn't enough, so they kicked things up two notches by turning the biscuits into waffles and - wait for it - adding lobster on top.

In a spin on the classic Southern dish of chicken and waffles, Red Lobster is now serving lobster and waffles as part of their Lobsterfest promotion. The bay biscuit mix is used to make crisp waffles on which buttermilk-battered and fried lobster tails are placed and then the whole thing is drizzled with maple syrup.

Waffles topped with lobster isn't a new idea; restaurant Saltie Girl Seafood Bar in Boston serves it with sweet corn butter and spicy maple syrup. And if you wanted to try the sweet and savory dish at home, Red Lobster also sells their biscuit mix so you can make them at home.

The restaurant chain, headquartered in Orlando, Florida, just celebrated its 50th anniversary. They continue to introduce new menu items like Lobster and Waffles and their Dueling Lobster Tails, while giving fans what they want, which is of course more of those famous biscuits.

The new Red Lobster waffles are only on the menu for a limited time and you can find them at Red Lobster locations across the country.
