Reese Witherspoon — actress, producer, and founder of lifestyle brand Draper James — is releasing her first book titled Whiskey in a Teacup. The book will include her tips for entertaining and cooking in what Witherspoon calls "the gospel of Southern living."

Family traditions and hospitality with a Southern flavor are the focus of the book, as inspired by Witherspoon's grandmother Dorothea. On the lifestyle book's website, Witherspoon says, "I love sharing Dorothea's most delicious recipes as well as my favorite Southern traditions, from midnight barn parties to backyard bridal showers, magical Christmas mornings to rollicking honkytonks."
The title of the book comes from Dorothea as well. According to Witherspoon, "My grandmother Dorothea always said that it was a combination of beauty and strength that made Southern women 'whiskey in a teacup.' We may be delicate and ornamental on the outside, she said, but inside we're strong and fiery."
The multi-talented Southerner calls Nashville, Tennessee her home town and Witherspoon's Southern heritage shows up throughout her brands, including in the new book. She notes that her Southern roots are "reflected in how I entertain, decorate my home, and make holidays special for my kids."
She also promised to share her "fail-proof, only slightly insane hot-roller technique" which, let's be honest, is reason enough to buy the book.
Her book is just part of what promises to be a busy year for Witherspoon. Her media company Hello Sunshine is working on films, tv shows, and podcasts, while the actress/producer has the second season of Big Little Lies and two new streaming shows in the works.
Whiskey in a Teacup will be released on September 18, but you can preorder it now from a few different booksellers, including Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
