Song Premiere: Rhonda Vincent Reimagines a Porter Wagoner Tune on 'What Ain't to Be Just Might Happen'

Country and Bluegrass singer-songwriter and Grand Ole Opry member Rhonda Vincent  honors country music legend Porter Wagoner and her Opry roots with her rendition of "What Ain't To Be Just Might Happen," the latest release from her forthcoming album Music is What I See (our May 28).

"The Grand Ole Opry theme runs through this album," Vincent tells Wide Open Country. "Porter Wagoner is one of the Opry themes. He wrote and recorded this song in 1972. I think it has a great beat for bluegrass and I love performing it. This song brings immediate smiles from the minute the banjo kicks it off.   Plus it's a happy song, and perfect for this day and time."

Known as the "Queen of Bluegrass," Vincent began performing at the age of five, playing drums for her family's band, the Sally Mountain Show. By the age of 10, she was already playing the mandolin and the fiddle.

Throughout her incredible career, Vincent has won several International Bluegrass Music Association Awards and a GRAMMY Award for Best Bluegrass Album.

Vincent was invited to join the Grand Ole Opry in 2020 and was officially inducted earlier this year.

"It still doesn't seem real," Vincent told PEOPLE. "When you walk in our house, my Grand Ole Opry statue is the first thing you see. Just seeing something tangible like that every single day is an amazing feeling."
