10 Spooky Rice Krispie Treats for Halloween

One of the first things I learned how to make on my own as a kid were Rice Krispie treats. Gooey, sticky, and crisp, these sweet treats made the perfect snack or special treat for school. Just melt the butter and marshmallows, mix in the Rice Krispie cereal, spread out on a pan and voilà. It's one of the easiest snacks around.

How To Make Rice Krispie Treats for Halloween

1. Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats

What could be cuter than these pumpkin Rice Krispie treats at your next Halloween party? They're prepared the same way you would make regular Rice Krispies, but you're going to add orange food coloring to the melted butter and marshmallows mixture.

Before rolling into balls, coat your hands with cooking spray (it will be messy!) and then top each one with a green M&M and Rolo. The kids will love helping with this.

2. Jack-O-Lantern Rice Krispie Treats

These jack-o-lantern Rice Krispies make a fun Halloween dessert and are so simple to make. The recipe is your basic Rice Krispie recipe with the addition of food coloring and instead of cutting into squares, you're going to use a pumpkin cookie cutter greased with some cooking spray.

Add a face with black frosting or melted chocolate and watch them disappear in a flash!

3. Chocolate Dipped Candy Corn Rice Krispie Treats

While you're snacking on candy corn, head into the kitchen and whip up these candy corn Rice Krispie treats. You won't miss out on your dose of chocolate too since the tip is dipped in white chocolate and the bottom in dark chocolate chips.

4. Frankenstein Rice Krispies Treats

While some might think Frankenstein is pretty creepy, (don't ask me how scared I was as a kid after watching the Frankenstein movie from 1931!) these Halloween treats are actually pretty adorable.

Over low heat, melt butter, mini marshmallows, and green food coloring until smooth. Stir in Rice Krispie cereal, spread out on a pan, and cut into rectangles. For the hair, dip the top into melted chocolate and decorate with candy eyes.

I think I only like Frankenstein in Rice Krispie treat form.

5. Monster Rice Krispie Treats Recipe

Colorful and festive, these monster Rice Krispie treats are the perfect way to get the kids involved in the kitchen. Dip each one in Wilton candy melts and let the kids go to town with the candy eyes.

Serving these on lollipop sticks saves the kids and your guests from sticky hands, too.

You'll want these Black Cat Rice Krispie treat pops to cross your path at the Halloween party because they're super tasty and decadent. On top of being dipped in melted chocolate chips, they're also covered in crushed Oreo crumbs.

7. Mummy Rice Krispie Treats

I can't get over how adorably spooky these Mummy Rice Krispie treats are! To create the mummy wrap, using a piping bag filled with melted white chocolate, go in a back and forth motion over each one.

Set each Rice Krispie on wax paper for easy cleanup.

8. Rice Krispie Treat Ghosts

Using a ghost cookie cutter makes this a Halloween treat to have on the dessert table in no time. Even better, you can snack on any scraps while you're decorating the ghosts.
