You haven't made it as a celebrity unless you've got a group of obsessive fans. Unfortunately for Riley Green, it looks like he's getting way more than his fair share.

During a recent conversation with Pandora, Riley revealed that some fans who message him believe that they're in a relationship with him. Even worse, some believe they've been talking to Riley for years.

"The weirdest DM? Gosh, I probably can't say," Green said. "Well, I always get those where people feel like they've been talking to me for years. And like we're engaged to be married, and we've got a life together somewhere. And the internet's a scary place... be careful out there, okay."

It's fair to assume that a healthy portion of those DM's are bots or scammers. Who better to try and scam than one of the fastest rising stars in America? However, there's probably a decent portion of fans that genuinely believe Riley is their soulmate, either because they've fallen in love with what they see, or because they were catfished previously.

Therefore, Riley's warning to be careful on the internet is one you have to heed. You never know who's on the other end of the screen. Nor do you know what their motives are, and that itself should be terrifying.

Riley Green Recently Discussed Wanting Kids in the Future

If Riley thinks his DM's were bad before, he might want to shut them down for a while after his latest revelation. During a recent interview with Billboard, Riley opened up about whether he sees himself becoming a father in the future.

"I think about it a lot," Green said. "At this point in my life, I don't know how I could do it. So things are going to have to slow down and get a little bit more of a sense of normalcy before I could really think about settling down and having a family," he says. "But it's definitely something I'd like to do and I'm somewhat excited about where my songwriting would go with that much of a change in my life, too."

Riley may be single right now, but that doesn't mean he's not looking for the right person. However, that person is highly unlikely to be found inside of his DMs. So, while kids may be on the cards down the line, he will be better served by meeting women through his day-to-day life. At least then the chances of encountering a crazed fan are far slimmer.
