A Roger Miller tribute album that's years in the making pairs old and new country stars with some less likely celebrities. Together, they celebrate one of the quirkiest and greatest performers to ever set up shop in Nashville.

Songwriting that netted 11 Grammy awards in two years (1964- '65) and a Tony award for Big River, a 1985 musical based on Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, impacted both Lower Broadway and highfalutin Broadway over the years. Along the way, the Texas-born, Oklahoma-raised Miller introduced country music to a wider audience with his silly and sincere songs. It should be no surprise, then, that featured artists range from the legendary Willie Nelson and neo-traditional country singer Kacey Musgraves to the pop-accessible Brad Paisley and even former Big River cast member John Goodman.
Miller's son Dean Miller co-produced the album with Colby Barnum Wright of Wright of Center Music. It arrives Aug. 31, nearly 26 years after the elder Miller's 1992 death.
