When you think "scented candle" chances are you think of scents like vanilla, gardenia, or lemon. Thanks to Rudy's, you can now add brisket to that list. According to the Houston Chronicle, the idea for a barbecue candle started out as an April Fool's Day joke. However, popular demand prompted Rudy's to bring the idea to life.
It's a 16 ounce, triple-scented palm wax candle that is made right here in the good ole' U-S-of-A. It costs $17.99 (plus shipping) and is only available online.
Rudy's has been a Texas barbecue staple since its inception in 1989. They opened their first location in the small town of Leon Springs, Texas, just outside of San Antonio. Since then, it ballooned to dozens of chains across four states.
Harkening to its roots as an April Fool's Day joke, you could still use the Rudy's brisket candle to prank your friends into thinking you brought barbecue to work, but only if you don't want any friends after that.
If you want one, you'd better move quickly. Rudy's only made a one-time limited run of 1,000 units.
