During his recent show at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Sam Hunt performed a new, unreleased song for the audience - a ballad called "Nothing Lasts Forever."

According to Rolling Stone, when Hunt spoke to Bobby Bones about the song, he explained that it's "another step in the direction towards what will become something new from me in terms of a record. And maybe a new direction or a step forward in evolving as an artist or a writer."

"Nothing Lasts Forever" is emerging shortly after the release of his new slow jam, "Downtown's Dead," which tells the story of a lost love who took the magic of the city with her when she left. "Nothing Lasts Forever" also tells the tale of a love that's ended, leaving pain in its wake. "Say I'm someone that you wish you never met/Your best mistake/Your worst regret," Hunt sings.

The two new songs hint at perhaps a more serious album that Hunt is working on as the follow-up to his 2014 hit Montevallo though there aren't any details on when this mysterious new record will come out. For now, Sam Hunt fans can watch the above video that puts them in the middle of the crowd hearing the ballad for the first time.
