Scotty McCreery knows how to make a quick comeback. After being dropped from his former label, Mercury Nashville, McCreery found his way to Triple Tigers (part of Sony) and released his latest album, Seasons Change. On the record, McCreery sings a song about holding on to those special moments in life, and now the track has created its own defining moment in McCreery's career by going Platinum.

"Five More Minutes" was written by McCreery along with Monty Criswell and Frank Roger while McCreery was signed to Mercury Nashville. The young musician had to fight for the rights to take the song with him to a new label.
"I knew it was make or break for (my career)," McCreery told the Tennessean. "I had just lost a major record deal. I hadn't had music out since 2013. This had to work, and if I was going to bet my career on a song, it was going to be 'Five More Minutes.'"

Thankfully McCreery gained the rights "Five More Minutes," and it hit no. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase Country Aircheck charts back in February. Now, the Recording Industry Association of America has deemed the track Platinum after reaching over 1 million units of sales and streams, making for McCreery's biggest hit.
"2018 is my favorite year ever!" McCreery said in a celebratory press release. He's also getting married to his longtime girlfriend this summer, adding on to an already amazing year.
