The property is located outside the Northern California town of Elk, and it's situated next to the ocean. According to a video presented by Justin Nadeau of Mendo Sotheby's International Realty, the land has a "long legacy of stewardship and conservation." The property was originally used as a dairy farm and creamery in the 1800s, and visitors will still find the original barn and roadhouse of the farm.

The property features a sweeping cliffside landscape that leads down into the crystal blue waters of the Pacific. A highlight of the land is a 79-foot cliff called Devil's Basin. According to the clip, the property's "pristine coastline" was a filming site for Karate Kid 3.

Kristofferson's ranch features a total of one mile of oceanfront land. The land has the potential for cattle farming, timber production or residential development, according to the video. Although the land is somewhat undeveloped, it features a road network that runs from the coast to the meadows that overlook Manchester State Park.

"This is a place of solace," says the narrator in the video. "A fortress of solitude where tranquility in nature surrounds and heightens the senses. Where Pacific Ocean backdrops accentuate the majesty of old growth redwoods."

The narrator adds that the Kristofferson family has built its "legacy of love" for over 40 years on the property.

Kristofferson, 87, has been retired from his music and acting career since 2021. However, the singer made a public appearance in October 2022 to honor Jerry Lee Lewis at his Country Music Hall of Fame induction. Lewis could not attend the ceremony due to his declining health, but Kristofferson and his wife Lisa personally delivered Lewis' medallion to the him. Lewis died weeks later on October 28.
