Nothing captivates your attention quite like a well-done legal drama. And it's easy to argue that no show is making waves in the fictional courtroom quite like The Lincoln Lawyer.

Three days after its first season premiered in 2022, the series ranked #2 on Netflix's weekly ratings. A week later, it became the platform's most-watched English-language series in the world. So clearly, the creators and cast are doing something right.
Maybe it's the fact that the world is all too familiar with Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) and his nomadic criminal defense practice that mostly takes place in the back seat of his Lincoln Town Car. After all, we do have the Lincoln Lawyer novel series by Michael Connelly and the 2011 movie The Lincoln Lawyer starring Matthew McConaughey. But while the character and plotlines may be familiar, this new series has its own unique charm that's worth watching—and waiting for.
Fans were given a measly five episodes of the second season in July 2023 (which they've absolutely already binged). The remaining episodes were on August 3, 2023. So if you're having trouble finding ways to pass the time while waiting on new episodes, we've rounded up eight shows that offer the same type of legal thrills to help fill the void.
Perry Mason (2020-2023)
Who's in it: Matthew Rhys, Juliet Rylance, Chris Chalk, and John Lithgow
Where to stream: Max
Seasons: 2
While it may take place many decades before Haller and his Lincoln Town Car, Perry Mason shares a lot of similarities to our modern-day legal hero. In this reboot of the classic series that ran from 1957 to 1966, Mason (Rhys) is a defense lawyer in 1930s Los Angeles who accepts a career-making case that's not at all what it seems. Like Haller, Mason is also dealing with his own traumas following World War I, which adds another layer of complexity to the show.
Your Honor (2020-2023)
Who's in it: Bryan Cranston, Hope Davis, and Michael Stuhlbarg
Where to stream: Prime Video, Paramount Plus, and Showtime
Seasons: 2
This Showtime drama takes you behind the bench of prominent judge Michael Desiato (Cranston), who is all too familiar with compromising situations in his line of work. But nothing can prepare him for finding out that his son was involved in a hit-and-run with a major organized crime family. How far will he stretch his moral code to protect his family? Fans who enjoyed a flawed protagonist with a good heart like Mickey Haller will find a lot to appreciate in Cranston's character.
How to Get Away with Murder (2014-2020)
Who's in it: Viola Davis, Billy Brown, Jack Falahee, Aja Naomi King, Matt McGorry, and Liza Weil
Where to stream: Netflix
Seasons: 6
This twisty legal drama revolves around Annalise Keating (Davis), a brilliant law professor at a prestigious university who chooses five of her students to intern at her firm. But when they get caught up in one of her high-profile murder cases, the consequences become a lot more dire than just a failing grade. The Primetime Emmy-winning series will do what legal dramas do best: keep you on your toes.
Goliath (2016-2021)
Who's in it: Billy Bob Thornton, Nina Arianda, and Tania Raymonde
Where to stream: Prime Video
Seasons: 4
While it's definitely on the darker side compared to The Lincoln Lawyer, the protagonist of this series embodies one of the easiest stories to root for: redemption. After a killer he successfully defended goes on to murder an entire family, Billy McBride (Thorton) hits rock bottom. The only thing that can save him? A case that gives him a chance to get revenge on the firm that kicked him to the curb.
Anatomy of a Scandal (2022)
Who's in it: Sienna Miller, Rupert Friend, and Michelle Dockery
Where to stream: Netflix
Seasons: 1
Based on the novel of the same name by Sarah Vaughan, this miniseries uncovers a high-stakes trial of political and personal secrets. When James Whitehouse (Friend) is accused of sexual assault, Kate Woodcroft (Dockery)—a powerful barrister—is determined to take him down while his wife (Miller) is just as determined to prove his innocence. Seeing as how the showrunner is the same person behind The Lincoln Lawyer, you can expect to be on the edge of your seat.
Reasonable Doubt (2022-)
Who's in it: Emayatzy Corinealdi, McKinley Freeman, and Tim Jo
Where to stream: Hulu
Seasons: 1
Described by many as the female equivalent of The Lincoln Lawyer, this series follows L.A. defense attorney Jax Steward (Corinealdi), who has no problem bending and interpreting the law for her client's cases. The show was just renewed for a second season, so you can expect to see a lot more of Jax and her unorthodox methods.
Suits (2011-2019)
Who's in it: Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Meghan Markle, and Sarah Rafferty
Where to stream: Netflix or Peacock TV
Seasons: 9
You can't talk legal dramas without mentioning Suits. Mike Ross' (Adams) brilliant brain and astounding memory land him a job as an associate for one of New York's best attorneys. There's just one problem—he doesn't have a degree. Can he keep up the ruse long enough to make it in a cutthroat law firm? Viewers will love the cat-and-mouse game between Mike and his enemies, as well as the appearances from the Duchess of Sussex.
Better Call Saul (2015-2022)
Who's in it: Bob Odenkirk, Rhea Seehorn, and Jonathan Banks
Where to stream: Netflix
Seasons: 6
This prequel to Breaking Bad is a must-see for anyone who's a fan of legal dramas. Before he was ever the corrupt Saul Goodman, Jimmy McGill (Odenkirk) was just a small-time lawyer trying to make a living off of anything he could get his hands on. Even though it's more about McGill's transformation than courtroom drama, fans of The Lincoln Lawyer will love the bold characters and storylines.
Is Lincoln Lawyer Renewed for Season 3?
At this time, The Lincoln Lawyer has not been renewed for a third season—but that doesn't mean it isn't going to happen. There are still four Connelly books that the series has yet to cover, and given its popularity, there's a good chance that we could be seeing Mickey Haller back on our screens soon.
