For a decade, Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors have been hitting the road, creating memories and songs along the way. Those pivotal moments are encapsulated in their latest project, Souvenir. The record explores the vast array of emotions we feel on a daily basis, set to a mixture of modern folk, roots and rock elements.

One of the biggest changes for Drew and his wife and bandmate Ellie was the birth of their first child. Naturally, that flowed directly into Holcomb's songwriting, resulting in a cut that any parent will instantly connect to. Written by Holcomb and Nathan Dugger, "Mama's Sunshine, Daddy's Rain" is a plucky, playful and heartfelt ode to Drew's young daughter.
"Fatherhood changed everything for me," Holcomb tells Wide Open Country. "It was like the world went from black and white to color. Emmylou is her name, and she has the best parts of her mom, and some parts of me too. This is a love song, a love song to my daughter. It's one she can dance and sing to, one that makes you laugh and hope all in the same breath."
The track was recorded in East Nashville and produced by Joe Pisapia and Ian Fitchuk, who also worked on Holcomb's breakthrough record, Medicine. If "Mama's Sunshine, Daddy's Rain" is any indication, the record will likely be one of Holcomb's most inspired and solid releases from an already impressive catalog.
Souvenir is available Friday (March 24) in stores and online. You can find a full list of Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors' upcoming tour dates via their official website.
