Strawberry Compound Butter with Violet or Thyme
Compound butters are a versatile way to sneak more flavor into a recipe, dress up baked goods, and give herbs a place to shine.
Ingredients
Strawberry Thyme Compound Butter
- 1 stick butter, softened
- 1/3 cup fresh strawberries, diced
- 1 1/2 tbs fresh thyme leaves, minced
Strawberry Violet Compound Butter
- 1 stick butter, softened
- 1/3 cup fresh strawberries, diced
- 1/4 cup violet petals, rinsed and patted dry, minced
Instructions
- Using the paddle attachment, beat the butter until creamy. Add the strawberries and thyme or violets, then beat until incorporated. Taste, then add salt or sugar as desired.
- Use the butter immediately while warm and malleable, or refrigerate to use over the next few days. Excess can be frozen to last up to a few weeks.
