In an interview with People, Sweeney discussed the pain of struggling with infertility and how she and her husband dealt with a miscarriage.
"It took me a couple months to finally digest that I had miscarried," she shared. "That's when my friends started coming out of the woodwork. So many people had been through this. It was comforting to know we were not alone."
By sharing her pain through song, Sweeney has earned acclaim from fans and critics alike. "Bottle By My Bed" also earned a spot on our list of the Best Songs of 2017, So Far.
