Her new song, "Forever Loving You" is the first song the "Delta Dawn" singer has released since 2009.
Campbell and Tucker dated for 15 months nearly during the 1980s.

Co-written by Tucker, Michael Lynn Rogers and Rusty Crowe, "Forever Loving You" expresses some of the regret people feel when grieving.

"If I could spend just one more minute with you before you have to go/ If I could see you one more time before you have to leave this world/ I'd hold you in my arms tonight just like we used to do/I could leave this world a happy girl, forever loving you"

"I'm just devastated. Absolutely devastated," Tucker said in a statement. "Glen and I shared some incredible, precious memories together for a long time. There were some ups and downs and, of course, all the downs were played out in the press. We both got past all that."

Tucker said that all of their past conflicts have been absolved.

"Forgiveness is a wonderful thing. It's why I'm releasing 'Forever Loving You' in memory of Glen and for all of those who are losing or have lost someone they love."

Their short relationship got off to a rocky start due to unfavorable media attention.

In 1980, Campbell was fresh off his divorce from his third wife, Sarah Barg, who had just given birth three weeks previously. Tanya Tucker was 21, blonde, buxom and already an established country singer. Their age gap of over 20 years created a scandal made in tabloid heaven.

"I don't care if she's 50 or 15. She's the woman I want to be with." Campbell told People Magazine at the time. People characterized their relationship as "The wildest love affair in showbiz today".

Unmindful of the negative press, the couple had a passionate, albeit brief, love affair. They even recorded several songs together including Bobby Darin's 1959 hit "Dream Lover".

Because of Campbell's struggle with Alzheimer's disease, a portion of the proceeds from "Forever Loving You" will benefit Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
