Out Highway 59 between Houston and Victoria sits the blink-and-you-missed-it town of El Campo, Texas. Over 70 miles from the closest big city and with fewer than 12,000 residents, El Campo is not exactly rife with diversions. So one family solved that issue themselves by building a pool of epic proportions complete with a 500 ft. lazy river.
According to the Houston Chronicle, Kuykendall Custom Pools built the pool, which holds 600,000 gallons of water. It also has a 21-foot water slide, two hot tubs, a swim-up bar, light-up palm trees and an outdoor kitchen. In all, it's definitely an enviable backyard waterpark.
The home was built in 2005 and the original owners put it on the market for $5 million in 2014. It finally sold recently - for somewhere in the range of half that. It's quite a deal when you consider that the pool alone cost $3 million.
The home itself has five bedrooms and four and a half baths in over 7,000 square feet. The property also boasts a game room, a movie theatre and an elevator as well as a 3,000-square-foot guest house. The really impressive part, however, is definitely the super-sweet pool out back.
Before you hop in your car and drive out there, keep in mind this is a private residence, so the pool is not open to the public.
