The Chicks Offer Heartfelt Apology to Fans Following Announcement

The Chicks want to put on a show the fans deserve.

The Chicks rescheduled a trio of arena shows — July 27 in Nashville, Tenn., July 29 in Knoxville, Tenn. and July 30 in Greensboro, NC — originally slated for last week.

The Nashville concert was postponed the day of, with the decision on the weekend dates made on Friday (July 28).

"We have made the difficult decision to also reschedule our shows in Knoxville and Greensboro due to illness," shared the band on social media. "We are so sorry for the inconvenience, but our priority is to put on a show you all deserve."

The statement added that "all original tickets will be honored at the rescheduled performances" and the group Wild Rivers will still open all three shows.

The tour is set to resume on Wednesday (April 2) in Columbia, Md. The North American leg of The Chicks' ongoing summer jaunt began on July 21 in Tulsa, Okla. It was preceded by a slate of European stops in June and July. The North American dates wrap up on Sept. 18 in Toronto, Ontario. Ben Harper will open several concerts beginning Aug. 10 in Hershey, Penn. Maren Morris will be the supporting act for the final six dates scheduled for September. Nine appearances in Australia and New Zealand span the back half of October.

"Thank you to all our fans for making last summer so fun!" the trio wrote on social media upon announcing the tour. "It's time to get the party going again! We can't wait to see everyone!"

The tour began last summer, with dates including appearances at Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tenn. and the Austin City Limits Music Festival.

The trio shared the new dates for the Nashville, Knoxville and Greensboro dates in their announcement. The Greensboro, N.C. show will now be held on Aug. 8. The Knoxville date was rescheduled to Sept. 21 and the Nashville date was rescheduled to Sept. 23.
