The Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond is a busy gal. When she's not spending time with her family and pets on the Drummond Ranch — or inviting a few lucky folks to visit — she's creating new recipes and writing her own cookbooks, hosting her hit Food Network show, launching her own fly-off-the-shelves popular magazine, releasing a line of slow cookers, hosting a Patriotic Party on the Prairie for the Fourth of July, opening The Mercantile in Pawhuska or penning a children's book, all the while keeping fans updated with her award-winning blog.

Now, Drummond and husband Ladd are hard at work on the latest addition to the Drummond empire: a hotel in downtown Pawhuska, Oklahoma, just blocks from The Merc. Drummond is detailing the hotel's progress on the Confessions section of her blog, and though it's in the early stages, the new project is shaping up to be impressive. "Actually, it's Marlboro Man's building project in town," referring to her husband, Ladd. "I have had almost zero to do with it aside from an occasional 'Oooooh, neato!'"
Work is underway on a duo of buildings in downtown Pawhuska inside and out, making way for the Drummonds' 8-room hotel "with suites so comfortable and cozy, Marlboro and I are going to want to move into one," Drummond wrote.
The second story of the hotel — though "boarding house" is more accurate, Drummond writes in her blog post — will feature an expansive balcony/porch, inspired by the architecture of New Orleans and downtown Houston. For an early peek, the balcony and porch already seem like the best thing about the renovation so far.
The three-story building will house eight rooms in the boutique hotel, a restoration project that will no doubt add even more life to downtown Pawhuska as visitors frequently filter in and out since the opening of The Mercantile, almost one year ago.
The small town didn't quite have enough visitor lodging to handle the crowds, so this new hotel project from Ladd Drummond will surely make a difference.
The second and third stories will also provide guests an expansive view of the quaint Oklahoma town made a something of a landmark by the Drummonds.
Stay updated on the hotel's progress and the future opening date over at The Pioneer Woman.
