It's the age of streaming; we have Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Peacock... so why not a 24/7 channel dedicated to the King of rock and roll, Elvis Presley? The independent streaming company Cinedigm has announced plans for an official Elvis Presley Channel, which would become available on various service networks.

Cinedigm president Erick Opeka explained the decision: "There are few individuals more iconic than Elvis Presley, he transcends time, genre, and medium. The opportunity to build a branded channel around Elvis opens up streaming possibilities to an entirely new demographic in the fastest-growing segment of the ad-supported business. The channel will allow a whole new audience to experience Elvis, while also giving his fans a more in-depth look at their idol."
As you can imagine, the news has us all shook up.
The Elvis Presley Channel
Cinedigm and Elvis Presley Enterprises are working together on creating The Elvis Presley Channel, which is set to debut in 2022. According to a press release, the channel will feature "Elvis Presley archival content and specials, as well as musical content from some of the most influential rock 'n roll artists that inspired the music industry." Among those cinematic inclusions: TV specials like The '68 Comeback Special and Aloha from Hawaii Via Satellite, plus rare footage from the Graceland Archives. The press release also indicates an educational focus, highlighting the importance of Memphis, Tennessee during the early days of rock 'n' roll sound. The press release also teases coverage on fellow legends, Johnny Cash and Roy Orbison.

Altogether, the available content should span from Elvis' early years to the King's eventual Las Vegas residencies. Personally, I hope that Presley's Hollywood films are all included! From Jailhouse Rock to Love Me Tender to Viva Las Vegas... Cinedigm should have no trouble filling up a 24/7 cycle with all things Elvis. With his career, curated on your very own TV, it looks like Elvis will never leave the building! And don't worry: this streaming channel will be free on multiple major platforms like Roku, Amazon, Hulu, Samsung, and more.
And for those of you Elvis fans who can't wait until 2022, check out Elvis Radio now: a radio station dedicated to Presley, which broadcasts live from Graceland on Sirius XM. The official Graceland podcast is also a treat.
