The Voice Battles continued Tuesday night (Oct. 31) with an inspirational and exhilarating rendition of Cody Johnson's No. 1 hit "Til You Can't" by two Team Reba singers. McEntire chose to pair up two country artists: Dylan Carter — who touched the coaches during the blind auditions with a tribute to his late mom — and Tom Nitti — who impressed with a Stevie Wonder tune during the blinds.

The two artists stepped on the stage and truly gave their all as they launched into the song. Carter showed off his smooth and "delicate" voice, but he also showed range and power as he belted a few of the song's bigger moments. The emotion of the tune also came through as Carter sang, especially the line about taking that "phone call from your Mama." Nitti showed off the unique grit in his voice and wowed the coaches with his fiery performance.
The performance earned a standing ovation from the coaches, but the fun only lasted so long, as McEntire had a choice to make. Niall Horan complimented the singers' performance, saying it gave him goosebumps.
"When the two of you started harmonizing together, that's when it was electric," said Horan. "That's when the room was like, 'Oh, we've got a battle on our hands.'"
Gwen Stefani called Carter's voice "ridiculous," especially for a 20-year-old. She shared that she was also blown away by Nitti's performance.
John Legend said Nitti's performance started off a bit underwhelming, but then he warmed into it and showed his talent. He called Carter's performance "consistently amazing."
When McEntire got a chance to speak, she called the performance "magical" and even suggested Carter and Nitti would make a duo. However, she needed to make a choice, and it was a heart-wrenching one for her. In the end, she chose Nitti to move forward in the competition.
McEntire shared that this isn't the end of the road for Carter, however. She even mentioned interest in working with him in the future.
"We're going to do something," she said. "That's not over."
