Elvis Week at Graceland has become an annual tradition to honor the life of the King of Rock 'n Roll, Elvis Presley, on the week of his death, which occurred on August 16, 1977. For years, faithful fans of Elvis have gathered for a week full of events at his beloved Graceland property, with one of the highlights being the candlelight vigil to honor the singer's life. This year, fans showed up to the vigil yet again to honor not just Elvis, but also his only daughter Lisa Marie Presley, who passed away in January 2023.

According to The Commercial Appeal, a number of fans attending the Aug. 15 event carried signs or other memorabilia for Lisa Marie. A fan named Sarah Bullock reportedly placed a sign the reads "LMFP," which stand for "Lisa Marie [profanity] Presley," by her grave. A 13-year-old fan named Dava Asker also carried a pin on her purse that read "Rest in Peace Sweet Soul!!" alongside a photo of Lisa Marie. Both attendees saw Lisa Marie at the Jan. 8 celebration at Graceland for Elvis' birthday, just days before to her death.
In addition to fan-made tributes, the vigil reportedly featured recordings by Lisa Marie over the speakers, which opposes the event's usual "all Elvis music" rule.
This year's Elvis Week did not feature any appearances by members of the Presley family, such as Priscilla Presley or Lisa Marie's daughter Riley Keough, but fans still showed up in droves. Joel Weinshanker, managing partner of Elvis Presley Enterprises, reportedly delivered the opening remarks before the vigil.
Elvis Week features many events, including a screening of Elvis's Aloha From Hawaii 50th Anniversary Concert, an Elvis Week Gospel Brunch, a Dancing Thru the Decades Farewell Party, Elvis Karaoke, Graceland Mansion tours and more. The events run through Aug. 17 on the grounds of Graceland.
