To make DIY Twinkie cake, gather the following ingredients: Twinkies, instant vanilla pudding, crushed pineapple, milk, whipped topping like Cool Whip, 3 or 4 medium bananas, maraschino cherries, chopped nuts of your choice like pecans, and vanilla wafers for garnish.

You'll also need these tools: a 9x13 inch cake pan or baking pan, a large bowl, measuring cups, a way to easily spread the pudding mix, a way to cut the bananas, paper towels, and a way to cover the yummy cake while it sits in the fridge for half an hour to an hour.

First, take out the Twinkies out from the wrappers. Obviously, you can't eat them otherwise. Slice the Twinkie snack cakes horizontally then put the sliced Twinkies in the pan with the cream side up.

Next, slice up your bananas and put them on top of the Twinkies. Spread the pineapples on top of the bananas for a fun, fruity layer.

In a bowl, you're going to go ahead and combine the instant pudding mix with 2 cups of cold milk and mix everything together until it's all combined well.

Pour the pudding over the pineapple and spread it out until it's even and looks nice. Then put the whipped topping over the pudding layer and lay some maraschino cherries on a paper towel to drain.

Finally, lay some vanilla wafers on top then sprinkle whatever nuts you chose on top of the cake. Put some of the cherries over those, then cover and put the Twinkie cake in the fridge to set for 30 minutes to an hour. Then it's ready to be served!

A no-bake Twinkie cake is pretty much a basic layer cake that makes good use of the creamy filling in the treats to make the dessert even moister. The total time to make it is just about 10 minutes, and you and your family can dig into the dessert in about an hour. Enjoy!
