The title track of Josh Abbott Band's upcoming album, Until My Voice Goes Out, is a heartfelt message of embracing life's moments as they come.

In the song you'll hear a smooth, laid back melody focusing on the important things in life. A modest guitar serenades in the background, but it's the lyrics that truly carry the song.

"I want to write more stories than can ever be told, I want a silver lining and a pot of gold," Abbott sings. "A second chance when I make mistakes, and to give way more than I ever take."

The chorus is a sentiment of love. It's a reminder that everything is sweeter when there's someone standing next to you. Abbott's desire of creating a life to be proud of is eminent through the slow tempo of the song. He abandons any overproduction proving that sometimes simple is just as powerful.

The song itself may seemingly be a self-healing song for Abbott himself. The singer recently lost his father to a stroke. "Until My Voice Goes Out" was also the last song he played for his dad.

"I didn't write that song for my dad, but in a way, maybe without me knowing, I did," Abbott says. "It fits my life now, and in his absence, I couldn't be more grateful for that song and that album title."

Josh Abbott Band's new album, Until My Voice Goes Out, drops on Aug. 18. The 14-track record will be the band's fifth album and is a long time coming. It's been two years since the release of their last LP, the No. 1 Front Row Seat.

"Until My Voice Goes Out" Lyrics

I want to sing my songs until my voice goes out
I want to take every day and live it loud
Friends who were friends through the lows and the highs
I want them all to live long and healthy lives
I want to write more stories than can ever be told
I want a silver lining and a pot of gold
A second chance when I make mistakes
And to give way more than I ever take

I want you
Holding my hand, lover and my best friend
I want you telling me I'm yours up until the whole thing ends
Sounds simple, but it couldn't be more true
I want you

I want to lay down under the Northern Lights
And even when it's hard I want to do what's right
I want to sail and feel the wind in my hair
I want a whole lot of truth and a little bit of dare

I want you
Holding my hand, lover and my best friend
I want you telling me I'm yours up until the whole thing ends
Sounds simple but it couldn't be more true

I want you
I want a silver lining and a pot of gold
And for you to know, I'll never let you go

I want you, I want you
I want you holding my hand, lover and my best friend
I want you, telling me I'm yours up until the whole thing ends
Sounds simple, but couldn't be more true
I want you, I want you
