With such an impressive lineup, the 2018 Farm Aid was bound to inspire unforgettable collaborations and covers. One such moment came during Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats' set when Rateliff and crew were joined by Margo Price and Lukas Nelson for a rollicking cover of The Band's "The Shape I'm In."
The three acts were clearly having a blast performing the song, which The Band first recorded on their 1970 album Stage Fright. Rateliff kicked off the tune with his soulful, bluesy voice, while Nelson and Price joined in for the second verse.
In addition to Rateliff, Price and Nelson, the 2018 Farm Aid, held at the Xfinity Center in Hartford, Conn., featured performances by Chris Stapleton, Kacey Musgraves, Sturgill Simpson, Jamey Johnson and Farm Aid board members Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews.
Farm Aid was first organized in 1985 by Willie Nelson, Young and Mellencamp to raise money for family farms. Dave Matthews joined the board of directors in 2001.
