I know you're still in shorts and flip flops, but it's not too early to start thinking about holiday shopping, especially if you want to get in on one of the best holiday deals around. And by best, I mean booziest, and by around, I mean finally on this side of the Atlantic. That's right, Aldi has announced that their Wine Advent Calendar will be sold in the United States this year, starting on November 7.

The calendar (and it still counts as a gift if the wine lover you treat is yourself) is filled with 24 miniature bottles of wine and will sell for $69.99. You get a range of red, white, rosé, and sparkling wines, including Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Shiraz, and Malbec from Aldi's wine selection. The mini bottles add up to about six bottles of wine, which is a pretty good deal for the price tag.
The 24 nights of wine advent calendar is sure to make your holiday season a little brighter, but there is one bit of fine print. Because Aldi is a grocery store, if you live in a state where grocery store wine sales are prohibited by law (like New York and Kansas), you may not be able to purchase these wine advent calendars.
Last year, the calendar was only sold in the United Kingdom, where it sold out quickly. Aldi noted that the product will only be available this year for a limited time and there's a limited supply. Which means, if you want one of these delightful wine-filled advent calendars, start your planning now.
The wine calendar isn't the only new product on Aldi's Christmas list. There's a new cheese advent calendar, too, and that might even be better than the wine advent calendar. At the least, it's a match made in holiday heaven.
The cheese calendar also offers 24 little doors, each hiding imported cheeses, including cheddar, gouda, and edam. All those mini cheeses add up to about a pound in total. The cheese advent calendar will cost $12.99, but it's also a limited supply item, so stock up on this perfect gift quickly.
